Alisa Mahan is passionate about fitness, health and wellness. Her belief in balance in all aspects of one's life is an intricate part of her training philosophy. Alisa believes everything from work and play to nutrition and exercise should be done in moderation. She has studied fitness and wellness for the past 10 years with an AFAA Personal Training Certification, AFAA Pilates Workshop Training, Resist-A-Ball Core Certification, and several certifications held through the American Institute of Preventative Medicine including; Weight Management, Stress Management and Smoking Cessation.
Alisa has a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University majoring in Health Promotion with a focus on Exercise Physiology. She also holds a Master's Degree from Kent State University in Exercise, Leisure and Sport. Her education is most valuable to her, which she attributes to her success in the industry. Alisa also values her experience co-developing an osteoporosis program, Strong Bones Strong People, for St. Joe's Hospital, as well as her work as the fitness director of a privately owned physical therapy and fitness center in Warren, OH.
Strong work ethic and discipline are values she learned at an early age with her involvement in youth sports such as swimming, tennis, track, and ballet. Alisa believes sport allowed her to fully understand hard work and how to maintain the body through functional exercise. She uses her experience in sport to develop programs that encompass functional training, core movements, as well as cardiovascular endurance. It is essential to Alisa to individualize programs that are both ever-changing and fun. When working with Alisa, her ultimate goal is health maintenance and dedication to wellness as a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix.
